Age Manager Resources
Our Age Managers play an important role in helping Nippers develop water safety skills, confidence and knowledge in a fun and supportive environment.
Surf Life Saving NSW provides age-specific guides to help Age Managers deliver the Junior Development Program. Each guide includes activities, learning outcomes and resources appropriate to that age group.
Junior Development Age Guides
Use the guide for your Nippers age group when planning and delivering activities.
U6 – Surf Play 1 - Age Guide for our youngest Nippers.
U7 – Surf Play 2 - Building confidence, participation and basic water and beach safety skills.
U8 – Surf Aware 1 - Introducing greater awareness of the beach and aquatic environment.
U9 – Surf Aware 2 - Building on water safety knowledge, awareness and practical skills.
U10 – Surf Safe 1 - Developing greater independence, safety awareness and practical Nippers skills.
U11 – Surf Safe 2 - Continuing to develop water safety knowledge and practical skills.
U12 – Surf Smart 1 - Developing more advanced knowledge, skills and understanding of the aquatic environment.
U13 – Surf Smart 2 - The final Junior Development Award in the U6–U13 Nippers program.
